Physical and Mental Health

As an organization of predominantly African American women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is uniquely positioned to impact not only the well-being of its members, but also the health and wellness of families and communities at large. The Sorority’s signature Physical and Mental Health initiative, Journey to Wellness: Committing Our Bodies to Physical and Mental Health, serves as a powerful call to action—encouraging holistic, balanced, and intentional living.
The Central North Alabama Alumnae Chapter proudly demonstrates its commitment to this cause through its premier health initiative, Go Red. Established in 2008, Go Red is a dynamic, community-centered program that features a full weekend of activities dedicated to raising awareness about heart health, especially among women of color. From education to empowerment, this initiative continues to serve as a platform for advocacy, prevention, and celebration of life.
